Dorene Knuth

Dorene L. Knuth found eternal peace at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at the age of 94.
Dorene was born in Port Washington, Wis., on Oct. 13, 1925, to Otto and Sena (Ballbach) Schultz.
She was united in marriage to Wilferd Knuth of Cedarburg on Dec. 1, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington.
Dorene worked in the family business, Knuth Machine and Tool, for 45 years.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and baking, especially bread. She had a love for African violets and cardinals. She was active with the St. John’s Lutheran Church Women’s Guild and the choir. Dorene was known for her contagious smile.
Dorene is survived by her daughter Karen Nemitz of Fort Myers, Fla.; son Donald (Renee) Knuth of Port Washington; grandchildren Wendy (the Rev. Martin) Luchterhand, Cheryl Krueger and Kristine (Thomas) Morano; and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Doreen was preceded in death by her husband Wilferd, daughter Jean Sweeney, son-in-law Dennis Nemitz, grandson-in-law Kenneth Krueger and sister Elsie (Harry) Wittenberger.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 217 N. Freeman Dr., Port Washington, Wis. The family received visitors from 1 p.m. until the service.
Dorene was laid to rest next to her husband at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
