Donating a piece of Port’s past

A painting by Port Washington painter Shirley Schanen Gruen depicting the interior of Harry’s Restaurant, a beloved downtown diner that stood at the corner of Main and Franklin streets, was donated recently by June Eastvold to the Port Washington Historical Society. Present when the donation was made at the Resource Center were (from left) Jackie Oleson of the Historical Society, Gruen’s son and daughter-in-law Jean and Gerald Gruen, Eastvold, Anthony Deutsch and Geri Zehren of the Historical Society.
