District finds way around the wait for TID money

The closing of the tax incremental finance district in the Village of Belgium last year means more money will come to the village and the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District, but timing became an issue with the district’s budget.

The TID will provide $352,235 to the school district, but not until next year.

“Money from the TID closing in Belgium is not available to the district in in time to be put into the 2022-23 fiscal year,” Business Manager Tera Rogers told the School Board this month.
