District accepts gift from Reineke

The Cedar Grove-Belgium School Board last week received a financial gift from a former teacher.

Carol Reineke, who taught English in the district, gave more than $61,000 to the district. It will be put toward the pool since she was an avid swimmer.

“Carol was a treasured member of the Cedar Grove-Belgium teaching staff. She began employment with us back in 1972 and worked for CG-B for many years. Carol was an avid swimmer. Her wishes were that the money be used for pool-related activities. It is fitting that we honor her memory by using the donation to fund aspects of our aquatics program,” Supt. Elizabeth Freeman said.
