DeRuyter is winner of Dr. Dorr Scholarship

Mya Lee DeRuyter is this year’s winner of the $2,000 Dr. Dorr Memorial Scholarship.

DeRuyter is pursuing a degree as a registered nurse at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The scholarship, available through the Melvin Wester American Legion Post 412 in Belgium, is open to students who live in the Town or Village of Belgium and who have completed at least three semesters toward a degree in a medical field.
