Demonstrating their reading prowess

Youngsters at Kennedy Elementary School in Grafton, including (top photo) Sadie Walls and Aneta Parsikovaite, showed off their reading skills Tuesday during a visit from State Sen. Duey Stroebel, R-Cedarburg, while School Supt. Jeff Nelson looked on. Stroebel was the author of a bipartisan early literacy reform bill that will shift reading instruction to an evidence-based approach commonly known as the Science of Reading, which the Grafton school district implemented this school year.
