Daniel Plagemann

Mr. Daniel L. Plagemann of Cedarburg passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 12, 2022, from surgical complications.

He was born Feb. 3, 1947, to Henry and Elizabeth Plagemann.

He was a 1965 graduate of West Bend East High School.

In 1966, Dan met the love of his life, Mary (Kaltenbrun), and in 1967 they were married and had two children, Shawn and Heide.

Dan had careers as a draftsman, welder/fabricator and service technician. He retired from Trak International after 27 years in 2005.

Dan was a race car driver until he decided to take up something a little less dangerous and became a volunteer firefighter with the Port Washington Fire Department (1972-1992), where he rose to the rank of captain.

In 1996, Dan and Mary built their dream house on the family homestead and moved from Port Washington to Cedarburg.

Dan enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and loved to watch auto racing.

Dan is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary, son Shawn, daughter Heide, sister Heather (Latz) and grandchildren Brian Bolek and Elizabeth Bolek.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elizabeth Plagemann.

In lieu of flowers and donations, the family would request that you thank and hug a firefighter.
