Dale Egerer

 

Dale Egerer, 69, of Fredonia died of complications from an illness at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Mr. Egerer was born in Port Washington on Jan. 10, 1949, to Edgar and Elsa Beimborn Egerer. He attended local schools and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1967.

On May 23, 1970, he married Bonnie Goehring at Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. The couple lived in Waubeka and Adell before building a home in Fredonia in 1976.

Mr. Egerer operated Clos-E-Nuff Trucking for many years.  

His family said he enjoyed hobbies such as scuba diving, horseback riding, playing baseball, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Egerer was known as “Mr. Fixer” and handled numerous projects at once, such as wrenching on cars, landscaping with his skid-loader, and building projects like the cabin he constructed in Bayfield County. Most recently he had been restoring a 1937 Chevy pickup truck.

Mr. Egerer is survived by his wife Bonnie of Fredonia; children Mindy (Doug) Miller of Random Lake and Matthew Egerer of Batavia.  

He is further survived by grandchildren Christopher, Haley and Faith Miller, all of Random Lake; sisters Wendy Park of Spring, Texas, and Lori (Dale) Moeller of Cedarburg; and brother-in-law Dennis Dickmann of Conroe, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, children Christopher and Angel, and sister Faye Dickmann.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington.  

Memorials to the donor’s favorite charity are suggested.
