Cultural Center polka party features 3 bands

    A polka party featuring Tuba Dan, The Bohemian and Steve Meisner will be held outdoors at the Cedarburg Cultural Center from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
    The party will be split into two sessions, with Tuba Dan and The Bohemian playing the first session from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.and Steve Meisner playing two sets for the second session from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
    There will be a break for sanitation from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
    The doors open at noon.
    Tuba Dan Jerabek began playing polkas in 1960 with his six brothers and sisters in northeastern Wisconsin. Later, he joined the Dick Rogers Orchestra and performed weekly on television for 14 years and four European Tours.
    Eventually he started his own band, the Polkalanders, which evolved into the Tuba Dan Band.
    The Bohemian, a solo Jerabek, has two new releases featuring his work as The Bohemian and with his band, Copper Box.
    Meisner is a multi-talented musician, entertainer, composer and arranger who has performed with the nation’s top accordionists, polka icons and musicians including Myron Floren, Frank Yankovic, Joey Miskulin and Verne Meisner during his 40-year career.
    He has 22 album credits and has performed nationally and internationally, averaging as many as 250 performances annually.
    He is the first of his generation to reside alongside his father as a Lifetime Achiever in the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame and the International Polka Association Hall of Fame. He and his father’s original compositions are included on many best selling polka recordings and Grammy-nominated recordings.
    Those attending the polka party may purchase tables for each session.
    A table for two is $40 or $32 for center members. For four, the prices are $80 and $64, respectively. For six, the prices are $120 and $96, and for eight the cost is $160 and $128.
    Masks must be worn when people are not seated at their table. Tables will be at least six feet apart.
