Covid-19 testing expands to community

Free Covid-19 testing at the Grafton School District is now available to all community members, not just those with family members attending district schools.

When the testing site first opened on Nov. 9, tests were only available to students, staff members and the people they live with.

The testing site operates through a partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Accelerated Clinical Laboratories.

Pre-registration is required for testing and can be completed on the Grafton School District website under the Student Services tab.

Individuals who register will receive a QR code to present at the testing site at the district office, 1900 Washington St.

Rapid tests are currently unavailable at the site due to statewide shortages, but PCR tests are being conducted. Results are typically available within 24 to 72 hours.

According to the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department, there have been 51,288 positive Covid-19 cases in both counties, 372 of which have resulted in death. There are 12,574 active cases in both counties.

In the last 30 days, the virus has resulted in 31 hospitalizations in Ozaukee County and 58 in Washington County.
