Cornhole champs crowned


Cedar Grove-Belgium High School recently held a cornhole tournament and crowned winners in four categories. In the competitive bracket (bottom photo), Billy Mentink and Dylan Teunissen of the Air Mailers took first place, followed by Zachary Chaudier and Sawyer DeRuyter of the Prison Baggers, Wes Otto and Sam Peiffer of the Boys and Deven Soerens and Dylan Dasher of Bring Me My Money. Chaudier and DeRuyter (top left) won for best team uniform. In the fun bracket (top right), Mathew Peiffer and Jude Ackeret of Prestige Worldwide took first, followed by Jesse Burg and Jacob Norris of the Solomon Sea Sinkers, Mason Navis and Colton Sellin (not pictured) of the San Tan Flat Pickles and Brett Williams and Nathan Wester of Big Spaz. Logan Navis and Winston Reichle won for the best team name, Triggered Chads. Seventy students participated in the event run by technical education teacher Brad Navis. Supt. Chad Brakke challenged students and immediately drew a crowd to take him down. He gave away three $15 dunkin’ Donuts gift cards.
