Commission OKs survey maps, sidewalk plan, service project

The Village of Fredonia Planning Commission on Monday approved two certified survey maps submitted by Kevin and Donna Stageman, W3835 Highway H in the Town of Fredonia, for parcels in extraterritorial jurisdiction.

One map covers a 5.398-acre parcel fronting Highway H. The other map calls for the subdivision of a nearby tract of land fronting Highway I into three parcels of 2.0 acres, 2.16 acres and 2.19 acres.

In other news, the commission:

• Approved the site plan for the installation of an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalk and ramp at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave.

• Approved a community service project proposed by Ozaukee Middle School eighth-grader Brice Schueller to construct a 16-foot-diameter, octagonal wood-frame recreational GaGa Pit at Fireman’s Park. GaGa is a fast-paced, high-energy dodgeball variant played in a small fenced-in hexagonal or octagonal game pit.

• Scheduled a public hearing for 7 p.m. Monday, June 7, on a rezoning request submitted by Glenbeulah-based Hillcrest Fredonia, LLC, which is seeking zoning changes from RS-2 (.83 acres) single-family residential district and A-1 general agriculture/holding district (1.39 acres) to RC-2 two-unit condominium residential district for undeveloped land along an extension of Deer Meadow Drive.

The purpose of the rezoning is to allow for the development and construction of six duplex buildings encompassing 12 condominium units ranging from 1,450 to 1,600 square feet.

• Held a public hearing on and approved changes to Section 575 of the Village of Fredonia Zoning Code: 575-18(D)(4) Rebuild Approval Permit Correction to Code Cross Reference, and 575-83 Accessory Uses, Buildings or Structures Corrections to Code Language.
