Up close and personal with vintage power

History lessons for young and old awaited visitors to the annual Antique Tractor and Machinery Show at Pioneer Village in the Town of Saukville on July 21 and 22. The event, which was presented by the Ozaukee County Historical Society and the Antique Tractor and Power Reunion Club, offered displays and demonstrations featuring vintage agricultural equipment. At left, Olivia Savatski, 2, was dwarfed by a steam-powered tractor. Below, smoke and noise filled the air as large pieces of timber were cut into boards (left), and George Hoffmann showed 5-year-old Bentley Miller what it was like to sit at the wheel of a classic John Deere tractor (right).
