Cherilynn Banasiak

Cherilynn Faye Banasiak, 60, of Saukville Wis., unexpectedly passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.

It was with great sorrow that heaven shines brighter as our kind, caring, generous, fiercely loving mother, grandmother,  sister, aunt and friend was called home.

Cheri was born March 22, 1962, in Chicago, Ill.

Eleven years ago, she moved to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter, son- in-law and grandchildren.

Cheri was preceded in death by her husband Brain Banasiak, brother Tracey Ginter and her father Chuck Ginter.

She is survived by sisters Kathy Walter of Mendota, Ill., and Colleen Williams,  nephews Donnie and Devon Williams of Granville, Ill.; daughters Melissa McCormick (Doug) of Spring Valley, Ill., and Amanda Johannes (Nick) of Cedar Grove, Wis.; and niece Teresa Messersmith (Eric) of Spring Valley, Ill.; and their five beautiful children, Riley, Gage, Tessa, Ruby and Amora. Cheri also leaves behind four grandchildren that were the absolute light of her world, Mason, Jaycee, Emma and Colton.

She is further survived by many dear and memorable colleagues from Nicolet Plastics in Jackson, Wis., and ESP Plastics in Saukville, Wis., and countless dear friends she considered family.

At this time, the family will privately mourn the loss of their mother, grandmother and sister.

A celebration of life, honoring Cheri’s wishes, will be held in late spring or early summer.

Cheri overflowed with love, life and adventure. Her greatest adventures were spent on the back of a Harley, wind in her hair.

Her greatest love and accomplishments were her daughters and grandchildren.

If you would like to further honor Cheri and her passion, donations in her name may be made to the motorcycle group Guardians of the Children, Hawg City Chapter, 3008 Green Bay Rd., Port Washington, WI 53074.

Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
