CG-Belgium students meet Gill’s Reading Challenge, meet Gill

Many Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School students met Gill’s Reading Challenge and received a celebratory visit from the Lakeshore Chinooks’ mascot last week. Students who completed the challenge received a free ticket to a Chinooks game. Students had one month to hit their reading goals. Kindergartners had to read 25 books. First-graders had to read for 200 minutes, second-graders for 330, third-graders for 400 and fourth-graders for 500 minutes. Gill high-fived a student (bottom photo) and posed for a photo in the elementary school library (top photo) with the winners from kindergarten through fourth grade. Photos by Sam Arendt
