CG-B math team takes fourth place of 30

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School’s Math Team recently took fourth place out of 30 teams at a Lakeland University meet.

The Rockets scored 104 points. Plymouth won with 149, followed by Kohler’s 144 and Sheboygan North’s 128.

Joe Wilsnack was the Rockets’ top individual, scoring 16 points and earning an honorable mention medal.

Other team members included: Elliot Depies, Casey Katte, Bryce Ketterhagen, Logan Ketterhagen, James Mejchar, Robby Tharp, Megan Zaczyk, Isaac Garcia, Katie Mueller and Jacy Zajac.

Math meets include four individual events which math teacher and coach Scott Tipple said are essentially 15-minute quizzes that are each worth 10 points, and one 20-minute team event worth 60 points in which all eight members work together. Team scores include all eight individual scores and the team event total.
