Celebrating fall on a day that felt like summer

October 14, 2026

Shorts and T-shirts, as well as Halloween costumes, were the attire for a Fall into Grafton festival celebrated on a beautiful Saturday, Oct. 10. Among those who turned pumpkins into creative racing machines and won trophies in the Pumpkin Derby were (from left in top photo) Lazlo Peto, Oli Strehlow and Alexander Shipper. From left in photos above: Pumpkin painting was a popular activity among children. The Perry children — Oaklee, Jett and Dax — came to the downtown event dressed as their favorite “Toy Story” characters. Max Fredrick put the ball in the hole on a scary Puttin’ Around Grafton green. The event is organized by Celebrate Grafton.   Photos by Sam Arendt
