Catherine ‘LeeRaye’ Baumann

Mrs. Catherine “LeeRaye” Baumann of Waubeka passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at Lincoln Village in Port Washington. She was 82 years old.
LeeRaye was born in Superior, Wis., on Sept. 3, 1940, the daughter of Peter and Caroline (nee Timmer) Wilmot.
When she was 9 years old, her family moved to the Cedar Grove area and then to Port Washington. LeeRaye graduated from Port Washington High School with the Class of 1958.
On July 16, 1959, she married Clifford Baumann.
The couple, along with Cliff’s brother Roger and his wife Betty, ran Baumann’s Market in Waubeka.
LeeRaye was a lifetime member and former board member of the National Flag Day Foundation.
She enjoyed crafting and decorating for the holidays.
LeeRaye is survived by her two children, Doug Baumann of Johnsonville and Michael (Lori) Baumann of Fredonia, and five grandchildren, Kurt (Rachel) Schommer, Geoff (Jessi) Baumann, Chase Baumann, Mike (Katie) Baumann Jr. and Brad (Lauren) Baumann.
She is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren, three siblings, Louie (Colleen) Wilmot of Sheboygan, Rose Marie (Wayne) Riekkoff of Kewaskum and Cricket Giles of Waldo, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff, daughter Linda (the late Al) Schommer, granddaughter Catherine Schommer, brother Clayton Wilmot and sister Paulette Surk.
Graveside services for LeeRaye will be celebrated on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 4 p.m., at St. Paul Cemetery in Waubeka, followed by a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National Flag Day Foundation.
LeeRaye’s family would like to thank the caregivers and friends who provided exceptional care and compassion during her final years.
