A cat was lost, the Village of Grafton’s empathy was foundKUDOS:
To Ozaukee Press:
On July 13 this year, I never would have foreseen the whirlwind of a journey I was about to embark on with this entire community to hunt down and retrieve my lost cat Ramen. My dedication and persistence towards getting him back stemmed mostly from my love for him, but also my guilt for having been the one to lose him in the first place.
I want to express my sincerest thank you to all of my new friends who helped us over the last several months. Thank you to the several companies around Grafton that allowed me to set traps on their properties. Thank you to my new friend-turned-family, Village Trustee Lisa Harbeck, for being my shoulder to cry on and partner-in-action during this entire ordeal.
And lastly, my most heartfelt thank you to Eric of Enviro Wildlife Management, who was the one to successfully trap Ramen once and for all on Nov. 16 in the bitter cold and darkness of night behind the cancer center at Aurora Grafton
Hospital.
I like to think that several good things came out of this situation. I discovered a true sense of community, a network of animal lovers who understood the heartbreak of what our family was going through and refused to let us face it alone. And I finally found the courage to start something I’ve dreamed about for years, a nonprofit dedicated to helping animals in need. For anyone who would like to follow Ramen’s recovery or see the rescues to come, we’d love to have you join our world. You can find Ramen’s Rescue on Facebook, Instagram and
