Carol Koller

Mrs. Carol Koller of Port Washington passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was 87 years old.

Carol was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 25, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Alice (nee Hensel) Meller.

She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from West Division High School with the Class of 1953.

On July 30, 1955, she married Kenneth Koller at St. Michael Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple were married for 60 years.

Carol worked at the Sentry Foods Store in Port Washington for 25 years, retiring in 1997. She was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union.

She enjoyed birdwatching, crafting, crossword and word search puzzles, crocheting and watching game shows.   

Carol is survived by her six children, Mark (the late Diane) Koller of Weyauwega, Sandy (Dan) Schmit of Random Lake, Janet (Mark) Maechtle of Port Washington, Donald Koller of Port Washington, Karen Koller of Port Washington and Dennis (Elizabeth Christman) Koller of Wauwatosa.

She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, Lori Wenske, Jeff (Anna) Schmit, Sarah (Tony) Milazzo, Michelle (Matt) Furlott, James Maechtle, Ashly (Tyler) Youngbeck, Tyler (Stephanie) and Courtney Koller, Gabrielle and Jacob Nagle,  Audrey, Kenna, Julian and Carsten Koller and TJ Christman; 14 great-grandchildren,  Andrew, Alyssa and Emma Wenske, Caleb, Bennett, Tessa, Jude, Audrey Schmit, Luke and Alex Milazzo, Evan and Liam Furlott, Charlotte Youngbeck and Ivy Koller; her sister Ila Mae Vavrek of Wauwatosa; her sister-in-law Barbara Dassow of Menomonee Falls; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Alice Meller, her husband Kenneth, her son Carl, an infant granddaughter Danielle Nagle and her brother Orville Meller.

Visitation for Carol was held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, with funeral services following at 6 p.m.   

She was laid to rest next to her husband and son at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon.
