Carol Ann Lemke

Carol Ann (Larson) Lemke of Green Bay, formerly a long-time resident of Port Washington and Crivitz, Wis., went home with Jesus and waiting loved ones with her family at her side on Oct. 16, 2021.

Carol Ann was born in Port Washington to Martin and Una (Dupey) Larson on Dec. 6, 1944.

She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1962.

She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in music and accounting from Marquette University. She earned her CPA and a master’s degree in piano performance at the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music. She was certified by the American College of Musicians.

She performed, taught and judged piano and voice for 50 years. She was an active member of the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association and served on the board for 25 years, 10 years as president. She was also active with the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, National Federation of Music Clubs, Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs and Music Teachers National Association, serving on boards, committees and as chairman.

She earned the status of master adjudicator from Wisconsin School Music Association for her expertise in judging piano and voice competitions. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed performing duets, concertos and two piano works with her students.

She worked tirelessly to raise funds for a grand piano donated to the Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee and a piano for Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz, Wis.

She served as choir director at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Port Washington, for several years and was integral in the development of the liturgical music and Christmas concerts at Grace Lutheran.

Hundreds of students and music appreciators will enjoy her legacy of music for years to come.

 Carol Ann married Allan J. Lemke on Feb. 24, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. They cherished 53 years of love, laughs, adventures, projects, gardens, fishing trips, Northwoods life and raising their family.

They had two children, daughter Blake Betsy and son Allan Joseph (A.J.) II. She was the most dedicated mother who taught, encouraged, cheered, inspired, supported and gave her absolute unconditional love. She was so proud of all their accomplishments.

Carol Ann became an equally loving grandmother of Donovan, Grant, Savanna, Gabriel, Greyson and Meredith. She was at every birth, even racing through Chicago traffic to make it on time. She loved each of them dearly and made every visit exciting and special. She always enjoyed hearing about their activities and attending events. She especially loved it when the whole family was together at the lake and taking up the whole pew at church.

Carol Ann is survived by her husband Allan, children Dr. Blake Lemke (Dr. Paul Scott) and A.J. (Denise) Lemke; grandchildren, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and her beloved pup Diva.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Rose, father-in-law Edmund, sister Mary, sister-in-law Norma and brothers-in-law Laddie and Wayne.

Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., Green Bay, Wis., on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, with Pastor Scott Malme officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.

Burial will follow.
