Carl John ‘CJ’ Hespe

Carl John “CJ” Hespe passed away at his home in Chino Valley, Ariz., on May 23, 2020, at the age of 60.

He was the loving father of Tim (Niki), Hilary (Jason) Rein and Jacob (Chelsey). He was also the father of Caleb and Zachary; whose mother is Angie Jacin.

He was the dear brother of Steve (Bonnie), Jaime (Duane) Rismeyer and Dena Jacque; and the proud grandfather of Logan and Hadley Hespe, Everett, Braelyn and Ellison Rein, and Bradley, Ashley, Christian and Carter Hespe.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother James and Patricia and brother-in-law Jay Jacque.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was a graduate of Port Washington High School, Milton College and earned his master’s in religious education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. This served him well in grade-school teaching and ministry throughout his career and life.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and was a standout athlete in high school, college and the Land of Lakes with the Saukville Saints. He was the back up quarterback to David Kreig at Milton College, former NFL quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.

He followed in his dad’s footsteps of being an encyclopedia of Green Bay Packers support and reference.

He was very active in the churches and congregations and had a special touch in every place he lived. He committed himself to help spread the teachings and word of Jesus to everyone he touched.

On behalf of the family, we humbly request that everyone keep the faith and keep his children and their young families in your thoughts and prayers through these difficult times. A memorial fund has been established to assist Carl’s young boys, Caleb and Zachary Hespe Loving and Caring GoFundMe Fund.

The family would appreciate in lieu of flowers or other memorials of donations, that you would send your thoughtful and gracious donations to the GoFundMe fund which has been establish in the boys’ names.     

A memorial service in Arizona has been set for Thursday, June 11, at 11 a.m. (Mountain Standard Time) at Word of Life, Chino Valley, Ariz. There will be a live broadcast of the service on the church’s website and it will be available on the website as a video for those unable to attend.  

Wisconsin services have not be established at this time. When they are established, the information will be made available on Carl’s Facebook page.
