Buergbrennen not entirely a bust; fire rescheduled

Concerns over high winds prevented lighting fire at the Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Buergbrennen event last Saturday at Buechler Farms, but the barn still hosted food sales while music played. The Cedar Grove-Belgium High School girls’ soccer team sold baked goods with proceeds going toward their trip to the Tournament of Champions in Iowa. The fire for Buergbrennen is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18.
