Board approves teachers contracts

Teachers in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District are getting a raise and stipend.

The School Board last month approved the negotiations agreement for teacher contracts that carry a 2.95% raise, along with a stipend based on wages.

All teachers received a raise according to the Consumer Price Index, and the stipend was the difference between CPI and their wage, Business Manager Tera Rogers said.

For example, if a teacher makes $52,000, the CPI increase is $1,364. The stipend would be $170 for a total raise of $1,534, which is 2.95% of $52,000. In 2026-27, that teacher would be paid $53,364.

The district has about 65 teachers.
