Lunch prices in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District will cost more starting in fall.

The School Board this month approved increases of 40 cents at each school.

Elementary school lunch costs will go from $3.10 to $3.50, middle school lunches from $3.20 to $3.60 and high school lunches from $3.30 to $3.70.

The board approved the increase minutes after approving a series of raises for food service employees, custodial and clerical employees, athletic advisers and coaches and substitute employer groups, including lawn care, cooks and servers, building secretaries and special education aides.

“It has been a couple of years if not more since we’ve increased these prices. It puts us right in the middle, not high or low, with surrounding districts,” Business Services Manager Tera Rogers said.

“That also helps to offset the previous motion on increasing the wages.”
