Blood drive set at Port church on Aug. 19

A blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

The drive is run by the American Red Cross and sponsored by the church.

People may register for a time slot or walk in, but appointments are preferred.

To register, call (800) 733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code PortWashington.

Anyone donating blood in August is eligible to receive a $15 gift card and a free A1C blood test, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes.
