Blocks for Quarantine Quilt are due by June 30
Completed blocks for the Quarantine Quilt being created by the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts are due by Tuesday, June 30.
Blocks can be dropped off in the Free Little Library just outside the main doors of the museum at N50 W5050 Portland Rd., or in the box between the two sets of main entry doors.
They may also be mailed to the museum but must be postmarked by June 30.
Donations of supplies for the quilt and volunteers to assemble it are needed.
To volunteer, email education@wiquiltmuseum.com.
Donations being sought include twin, full or queen-sized 100% or 80/20 batting and neutral colored backing fabric. The quilts will be approximately 60-by-70 inches.
Monetary donations are also being sought.
Donations are requested by June 30 since construction has already begun on some of the quilts.
The Quarantine Quilt exhibition will open in early August, along with an exhibit curated from the museum’s collection.
The museum has posted pictures of some of the Quarantine Quilt blocks online at wiquiltmuseum.com/the-quarantine-quilt and on its Facebook page.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m. Sundays and by appointment.
