Beverley J. TenHaken

Beverley J. TenHaken, 89, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at Cedar Grove Gardens.

Bev was born to Garret and Jessie (Prinsen) Schreurs on Oct. 20, 1933.

She graduated from Cedar Grove High School and Milwaukee County Beauty Culture School.

Bev loved animals, especially horses, the outdoors, flowers and farming.

She worked as a beautician for 10 years, and also at Piggly Wiggly, Tolibia Cheese Co., Northern Propane and E&R Plumbing.

Bev was united in marriage to Norman TenHaken on Sept. 8, 1972. They were married for 30 years, and Bev helped on the farm during their marriage.

Norman preceded her in death in 2003.

She was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove

Bev is survived by her daughters Pat Meerdink, Bev (Gary) Gabrielse, Ann (John) Davies and Vicki (Kevin) Soerens, all of Oostburg; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and caregivers Wayne (Nancy) Navis, John (Diane) Navis and Jean Dees.

She is further survived by her brother-in-law Glenn (Mary) TenHaken; sister-in-law Ellen Preder; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman; son-in-law Robert Meerdink; sisters Olive (George) Navis and Margaret (Orien) TeBeest; brother Junior Garret (Lillian) Schreurs; and infant sisters Wilma and Jean Schreurs.

A funeral service to celebrate Beverley’s life was held at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at 11 a.m.

She will be laid to rest next to Norman at Hingham Cemetery.

Relatives and friends greeted the family from 9 a.m. until the service.

Memorials are appreciated in Bev’s name.
