Betty May Klinter
Betty May Klinter, 90, of Port Washington, a former resident of Milwaukee, died Monday, Dec. 18, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington. Ms. Klinter was born in St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada, on Oct. 9, 1927, to Roy and Marguerite Mandley. She came to the United States in 1945 and settled in Wisconsin. Ms. Klinter worked as an inspector for Continental Can Co. in Milwaukee for 42 years and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. Her family said Ms. Klinter was an avid reader who enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and was a huge fan of Betty Boop. Ms. Klinter is survived by her children Debra (Jim Mienecke) Klinter, Denise (John) Zoesch and Duane (Steve Deardorff) Klinter, all of Milwaukee, and Darren (April) Klinter of Saukville. She is further survived by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ms. Klinter was preceded in death by her brothers Leroy, Gary and Jack Mandley. A gathering to celebrate Ms. Klinter’s life was to be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association are suggested.
