Betty Keller

Mrs. Betty Keller passed away peacefully at Harbor Campus in Port Washington on Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 2023. She was 93 years old.

Elizabeth was born on May 4, 1929, in Rugby, N.D., the daughter of Alex and Mary (nee Vetch) Wolf.

On Oct. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage with Roy Keller at St. Mary Catholic Church in Knox, N.D.

The couple moved their young family to Wisconsin in 1950 and lived in Fredonia, Grafton and Port Washington before settling in Belgium in 1967.

He preceded her in death in 2017.

Mrs. Keller had been employed at Allen Edmonds for 34 years, most recently as a supervisor. After her retirement she worked part-time at the Popcorn Factory in Belgium.

Betty was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, presently Divine Savior Parish, and had been active in the Christian Women organization. She was also a member of the Belgium American Legion Post 412 Auxiliary.   

Elizabeth enjoyed bowling, golfing and gardening.

She was a cleaning fanatic and was very particular about making sure the windows were spotless.

She had many pets over the years and always loved the companionship her dogs provided.

Survivors include her five children, Larry (Nanette “Nan”) Keller, David (Margo) Keller, Diane (Leon) Anzia, Lavonne (Don Lucas) Kling and Corinne (Andy) Kozeniecki; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by sister Irene (the late Lloyd) Meyer, brother Francis (Verena) Wolf, sister-in-law Nancy Wolf, brother-in-law Gene Klein, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Roy, infant great-grandson Sean, son-in-law Ray Kling,  brother Daniel Wolf and sisters Mary Clemens and Lorraine Klein.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Divine Savior, Holy Cross Chapel, 5332 Hwy. B, Belgium. Father Don Thimm will preside.

Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Mary Cemetery, Lake Church, later that day.

The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or the Belgium Legion Auxiliary.

Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
