The best Christmas lights around

The winners of the eighth annual Lake Financial Group Christmas Lights Competition gathered in downtown Port Washington last week to receive their awards. Standing at the foot of Franklin Street were (from left) Brad Katzer of Lake Financial, winners Justin and Benjamin, 5, Langer; Georgia and Dylan Barber and their father Brian Barber; and Brianna and 1-year-old Richter Luedtke; and Justin Behm, a managing partner of Lake Financial. Brian Barber is also a managing partner of the Port firm, and although he said he didn’t want to win his own contest, you can’t blame the judge for this category, Port Main Street Inc., for giving the Clark Griswold Award to him and his wife Andi, who turned their home at 311 La Brisa Ct. in Port (lower) into a near identical replica of Clark Griswold’s house in the holiday classic “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” The Langers’ house at 251 E. Monroe St. in Port (lower, right) won the Best in Show Award, judged by Individual Growth Services, and Brianna and Zach Richter’s home at 167 Ruby La. in Saukville (lower left) won the People’s Choice Award.
