Bernard H. Mueller

Mr. Bernard Mueller of Cedarburg passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the age of 84 years.  

He was born in Cedarburg on June 21, 1935, the son of Edward J. and Rose Montag Mueller.  

Bernard grew up in Cedarburg and attended local schools, including Cedarburg High School with the Class of 1953.

On Oct. 16, 1954, he was united in marriage with Gwendolyn Tobin in Milwaukee.  The couple settled in Cedarburg and started their family of 10 children.

Mr. Mueller worked as a machinist and assembler at Simplicity in Port Washington, retiring after 50 years on the job, and was a 50-plus year member of IAM Local 1430.

He was an avid race fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR and races at local tracks in eastern Wisconsin. Mr. Mueller also enjoyed flower gardening, and many years planted upward of 300 marigolds.

Survivors include his wife of almost 66 years Gwen; and their children Steven (the late Joanne) Mueller, Mary (Dennis) Leist, Nancy (the late Neil) Nelson, Sally (Scott) Reimers, Becky (Keith) Olson, Judy (Alan) Holthaus, Terry (Niel) Filter, Edward (Lilliano) Mueller and Peter (Brenda) Mueller.

He is further survived by 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Beatrice Uebelher and Audrey Paul; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.  

He was preceded in death by daughter Cindy Mueller, infant sister Ethel and brother Alvin Mueller.

Mr. Mueller will be laid to rest at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, with a celebration of life planned for a later date.

Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice are suggested in lieu of flowers.

A special note of gratitude to daughter Nancy Nelson, son Peter Mueller and guardian angel Harvey for their unselfish love, caring hearts and the compassionate care they bestowed unto Dad.
