Belgium Fire Department to get new sign
The Belgium Fire Department is getting a new sign for its station.
The Village of Belgium Plan Commission last month unanimously approved a sign permit for the department.
The old sign had “Village of Belgium” on it, Fire Chief and Plan Commission member Dan Birenbaum said, but the department serves the village and town of Belgium.
The new sign, he said, won’t mention a municipality.
While the old one had a light shining on it, the new one will be lit from the inside, Birenbaum said. It will include a black and white flag with a blue line.
The old sign has been taken down. Birenbaum is waiting for the new sign to arrive.
“It’s a big improvement,” Plan Commission member Clem Gottsacker said.
