Bedford to perform in Mequon on March 23
Ben Bedford will perform a Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Unitarian Church North in Mequon.
The doors to the church at 13800 N. Port Washington Rd. will open at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $16 in advance, $10 for students and $20 at the door. Discounts of $1 per donated food item to a maximum $4 will be given at the door.
Coffee, water, juices and snacks will be available for purchase.
Bedford has established himself as a songwriter in the tradition of musical icons such as Bill Morrissey and Woody Guthrie, casting individual people in the theater of the American landscape.
In the 12 years since the release of his first album, Bedford has played throughout the U.S. and his music has received extensive airplay on folk and roots radio in the U.S. and Europe.
In July 2010, Bedford was named one of the 50 most significant folk singer-songwriters of the past 50 years by Rich Warren of WFMT-Chicago.
He has recorded five studio albums: “Lincoln’s Man,” “Land of the Shadows,” “What We Lost,” “The Pilot and the Flying Machine” and “The Hermit’s Spyglass.”
Advance tickets may be purchased at Vines to Cellar Winery in Port Washington, The Stagecoach Inn and Grapes & Tastes, both in Cedarburg, and the North Shore Bank offices in Mequon and Grafton.
