Barbara A. Gutbrod

Barbara A. Gutbrod of Fredonia, a woman who touched the lives of everyone she met, passed away peacefully at her home July 12, 2026, at the age of 87.

She was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 3, 1938, to Robert and Helen (nee Zart) Barber of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Thomas F. Gutbrod and, before his passing, her parents and two siblings, Guy and Bruce Barber.

A beloved stay-at-home mother, Barbara is survived by her four sons, Randy (Cynthia), Mark, Dennis and Kent (Bonnie) Gutbrod. She was the “best freakin’ grandmother ever” to Eric, Nicole (Brian), Brittany (Joe), Stevie, Nicholas and Ron, and great-grandmother to Brayden, Wesley, Nora, Oscar and an expected great-granddaughter, and always remember “Grandma doesn’t care.”

An avid reader, Barbara enjoyed working around the home, spending time with her new and lifelong friends and attending almost every sporting, concert or other event of her sons and grandkids.

A private gathering was held by the family to toast and share memories in a celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Thomas F. Gutbrod Memorial Scholarship Fund at Ozaukee High School.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Advocate Aurora Home Hospice for their assistance, care and compassion and the Waubeka Fire Department.

Per Barbara’s wishes, no further services will be held.

Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family.
