Ballots taking shape

With hours left before the 5 p.m. Jan. 2 deadline to file nomination papers to run, the Village of Belgium and Cedar Grove-Belgium School District still had some holes to fill the ballot on Wednesday.

Village President Pete Anzia and Trustee Rose Sauers are running, but Trustee Josh Borden hadn’t turned in papers as of Wednesday morning.

Trustee Dale Pfeifer filed for  noncandidacy last month.

School Board President Chad Hoopman is running, but board member Lori Gruell hadn’t turned in papers as of 9:40 a.m. Wednesday. District  administrative assistant Amy Schoeder said Gruell told her she plans to turn in nomination papers.

In the town, all incumbents are running, including Chairman Tom Winker, supervisors Bill Janeshek and Tom Bichler, Clerk Ginger Murphy and Treasurer Dayle Parks.

The election is April 2.
