Arline Thill

Arline J. Thill of Port Washington was welcomed into the hands of God on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022. She was 96.

Arline was born in Fredonia on the family farm to Leo and Susanne (Pierron) Thill on April 7, 1926.

She married Harvey M. Thill on June 14, 1947, at Holy Cross Church in the Town of Belgium, and together they had six children.

The couple owned and operated their own family farm in the Town of Belgium until Arline retired with Harvey in 1986.

They enjoyed 51 years of marriage until he passed away in 1998.

Arline was a lifelong member of Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel. She belonged to the Christian Mother’s Society, Catholic Knights, Order of Foresters, Luxembourg Society, Ozaukee County Farm Bureau and Country Promenader’s Square Dance Club.

Arline liked to read, garden, play cards, exercise and travel. Above all, she loved visits with her family, grand and great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Arline will remain in the hearts of her children Jeanne (Tony) Gundrum of Lake Villa, Ill., John (Cindy) Thill of Belgium, Gerald (Nancy) Thill of Random Lake, Janet (Kemal) Sipilovic of Mt. Hope, W.V., Joseph (Sandra) Thill of Belgium and Joyce (Scott) Hendrickson of Prior Lake, Minn.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; brother Gordon (Mary) Thill; and sister-in-law Delores Prom. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Rd. B, Belgium, WI  53004.  Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church from 3 to 6 p.m.

Arline will be laid to rest next to her husband Harvey at Holy Cross Cemetery, Belgium.

Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
