Arlene Arendt

Arlene (Duwell) Arendt of Fredonia passed away in the evening hours of Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Forest Haven in Fredonia surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.
Arlene was born in Scandinavia, Wis., on April 10, 1933, the daughter of Thomas and Esther Johnson.
On April 11, 1953, Arlene married Joseph F. Duwell in Johnsburg, Wis. He preceded her in death in 1989.
On July 20, 2002, she married Orville Arendt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Church. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Arlene was employed as a care provider in multiple capacities, including child and patient care as a nursing aide. Prior to retirement, she served for many years as a dietary aid ein the kitchen at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
She was a longtime member of Divine Savior Parish (St. Mary’s Lake Church).
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and, most of all, family life.
Arlene is survived by five sons, Jeff (Lori) Duwell of Grafton, Larry (Sandy) Duwell of Belgium, Paul (Tanya) Duwell of Andover, Minn., Jerry Duwell of Belgium and Al (Tina) Duwell of Sheboygan; and three daughters, Bonnie Dowell of Tucson, Ariz., Karen (Daniel) Hankins of Georgetown, Texas, and Annie (Dan) Large of Port Washington.
She is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her brother Tom (Karen) Johnson of Iola, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph and Orville, brother LaVerne Johnson and dear brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Divine Savior Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, Belgium. Father Neil Zinthefer will preside.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband Joseph at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Lake Church.
Visitation will take place at the Holy Cross Chapel on Monday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 6 p.m.
