April ballot to bring change to village, town

Village and town leadership in Fredonia will be changing come April.

The seats of village trustees Richard Abegglen, Jessica Franck and Natalie Eippert are up. Abegglen has submitted paperwork to run again, and Franck is circulating papers.

Eippert has filed for noncandidacy.

In a separate special election on the same ballot, Bruce Paape has submitted papers to run for the seat formerly held by Don Dohrwardt. He resigned in November after 29 years of serving as a trustee as he goes through cancer treatment.

The seat has one year left on its term.

In the town, the seats of supervisors John Depies and Jim Stemper are up for election.

Depies has taken out papers to run again and Stemper has declared he won’t run.

In the Northern Ozaukee School District, four seats are on the ballot, including the Town of Saukville seat held by Brent Neis, the Village of Fredonia seat held by Jennifer Clark, the Town of Fredonia seat held by Kevin Klas, and the Town of Belgium seat held by Brian Conrad. He was appointed this year to fill the seat of Jeff Decker, whose term expires in 2026.
