Applicants sought to apply for scholarships

The Ozaukee County Historical Society is accepting applications for the Harold C. Dobberpuhl Memorial Scholarship for Ozaukee County high school seniors who are planning to attend a two-year or four-year school of higher education.

This is a one-time scholarship for $400.

Harold C. Dobberpuhl was a lifetime resident of Cedarburg who served in the National Guard for 20 years, was Ozaukee County Clerk for 38 years and was a photographer of Ozaukee County. He also produced the book “Cedarburg 1946-1964.”

Dobberpuhl was also known for volunteering with the Red Cross, Cedarburg Fire Department, Cedarburg Cultural Center, his church and the Ozaukee County Historical Society. His passion for history was expressed as a Revolutionary War re-enactor for the Northwest Territory Alliance organization.

Applicants for the Harold C. Dobberpuhl Memorial Scholarship, which the Ozaukee County Historical Society sponsors and administers, are eligible if they are seeking  a degree or major in public administration or public service, history and historic reenactment, historic preservation, or photography or  graphic arts.
