Annabelle Zeulsdorf

Annabelle Zuelsdorf of Port Washington was a spiritual woman who made her family and church the center of her life, her son Patrick said.
"That was her life,” he said. “She was a faith-filled woman — kind, gentle and caring. It was awesome.”
Mrs. Zuelsdorf was an active member of St. Mary Parish in Lake Church, which is now part of Divine Savior Parish, as well as the church’s Christian Mother and Altar Society.
“Years ago, she would go with the ladies after church to breakfast,” her son said. “They would also go to Friday fish fries.”
Mrs. Zuelsdorf, who also lived in Belgium, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 87.
A native of West Bend, she was born on July 19, 1931, to William and Rose Harns Mueller.
On June 26, 1954, she married Melvin “Mike” Zuelsdorf at Holy Trinity Church in Newburg.
She was a member of the Belgium American Legion Auxiliary.
“My mom was very strong,” her son said, adding she was also a “jokester.”
She also enjoyed crocheting when she was younger, he said.
Mrs. Zuelsdorf is survived by her children, Kristine (Larry) Simmelink of Cedar Grove, Steven (Monica) of Belgium, Daniel (Kolleen) of Buckeye, Ariz., and Patrick (Kim) of Fredonia; grandchildren Jim, Brittany, Brett and Paul Simmelink, Justin (Justine) Zuelsdorf, Eric (special friend Teah) Zuelsdorf, and Randy (Sara) Zuelsdorf; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike and son Douglas.
A funeral service for Mrs. Zuelsdorf was to be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium. Deacon Gerald Malueg was to officiate.
Visitation was to be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the service.
Burial was to be in St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Lake Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Belgium Fire Department are suggested.
