Alan Sauer

 

Alan J. Sauer passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at the age of 83.

He was the loving husband of Margaret “Marnie” (nee Duff); dear dad of Kay (Bill) Dillaman, Amy (Craig) Consigny and Mike (Sandy) Sauer, cherished grandpa of Erin (Dan) Warrick, Elizabeth and Katie Dillaman, Kevin and Tyler Consigny and Charlie and Abby Sauer and great-grandpa of Vivian and Liam Warrick.

He was the son of the late William and Clara (nee Molling) Sauer; brother of Robert (Alice) Sauer; brother-in-law of Dolores Sauer, Donna Sauer, Marlyn Duff, Bill (Carol) Duff, Ginny (Don) Laubenstein, Charles (Barbara) Duff, Alice (Howard) Clausing and Dottie (Joe) Dorr.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Sauer was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Sauer, Ray (Jeanne) Sauer, Walt Sauer and brother-in-law Jim Duff.

Al’s faith was the center of his life and was reflected in his service to his church. He enjoyed singing in his church choir and loved classical music.

Al treasured spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in a senior league.

He graduated from Port Washington High School with the Class of 1955 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the Class of 1959.

He was a retired art teacher, golf and tennis coach from New Berlin Eisenhower High School.

Burial of his cremains will be on Thursday, July 22, at Union Cemetery, South Keeney Street, Port Washington, Wis., at 2 p.m. Please meet at the cemetery.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 24, at Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 4895 S. Calhoun Rd., New Berlin, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m.
