Alan Bruhn

Alan Michael Bruhn of Fredonia passed away on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at the age of 79.

He was born in Milwaukee to Elmer and Virginia (Riese) Bruhn on March 10, 1943.

He married Gloria McIntosh on April 23, 1966, and together they had five children.

Alan attended Salvatorian Seminary and graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard.

Alan retired from Ameritech (Wisconsin Bell) after 30 years of dedicated service.

He was a member and former commander of the Warren Kane American Legion Post 410, Fredonia, and the Forty and Eight veteran’s organization.

As an extremely dedicated member of the community, he served on multiple boards and departments, including the Fredonia Lions Club, the Northern Ozaukee School Board and as an officer of the Fredonia Fire Department.

His passion was racing! Many nights were spent in a garage or at the racetrack, working on a pit crew or cheering on his favorite driver. He was involved with everything from super modified, sprint cars, late models and Busch cars. The entire family participated, and some still do.

Alan is survived by his devoted wife Gloria; his children David (Marlene), Judy, Kathy (Kevin) Braby, Michael and Daniel (Hannelore); grandchildren Austin, Nathanael and Gabriel; and siblings Gary (Betty), Richard (Mardell), Mary Kay Kempf and Laurie (Doug) Grade.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Patricia McKinnon, Carol Curfman and Eileen Seidner.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, WI 53074. The family will receive guests at the funeral home during this time.
