Ozaukee Impact Awards announced

The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center has announced the winners of the Ozaukee Impact Awards, which were presented last week.

The Ozaukee Food Alliance and Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge received the Community Collaboration of the Year award.

Bank Five Nine received the Community Stewardship award.

Family Promise of Ozaukee County received the Nonprofit of the Year award, and its executive director, Mike Cosgrove, received the Nonprofit Emerging Leader of the Year award.

Gallery 224 exhibit runs through Aug. 30

The newest exhibit at Gallery 224 in downtown Port Washington features three artists who are participating in the ArtServancy program.

The program pairs artists with specific nature preserves that are meant to be inspiration for their work.

Featured in the exhibit are Sheree Wood, who worked at Afterglow Farm in the Town of Port Washington; Paula DeStefanis, who was paired with Shannon Preserve in the Town of Saukville; and Matthew Groshek, who worked at Decorah Woods in the City of West Bend.

The exhibit runs through Aug. 30.

Moms Mental Health joins Grafton center

Moms Mental Health Initiative is the newest agency housed at the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center in Grafton.

Moms Mental Health Initiative is dedicated to ensuring that pregnant and postpartum women access the mental health support they need.

Through peer support, education, advocacy, provider partnerships and resource navigation, it works to connect families with timely, compassionate care while helping to reduce the stigma surrounding maternal mental health.

Business to host K9 officers fundraiser

A fundraiser for area law enforcement agencies’ K9 units will be held in Saukville on Friday, Aug. 14.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Eddie’s Service, 125 N. Riverside Dr.

Raffles for gift baskets will be held, food will be for sale and family activities and games will be available.

Proceeds go toward K9 officer equipment, training, food and medical care.

Blood drive scheduled for Aug. 12 in Port

The Army of Normal Folks Ozaukee will host its second blood drive from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington.

The drive is held in conjunction with Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin.

Donors will receive a coupon for a free beverages from Inventors and a $50 discount at Wilderness Resorts with a chance to win a free stay.

Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome.

Woman’s Club to host summer picnic

The Port Washington Woman’s Club will hold its summer picnic at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Veterans Park in Port.

Members are asked to bring a bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.

There will be a short business meeting followed by bingo.

4-H honors its outstanding leaders, new ambassadors at the Ozaukee County Fair

Area students earn honors at UW-GB

Twenty-four area students earned honors for the spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Students who earn a 4.0 grade-point average receive highest honors while high honors go to students earning GPAs of 3.75 to 3.99. Honors are given to students earning GPAs of 3.5 to 3.74.

Belgium students earning high honors are Cole Anzia, Gabe Egan, Saige Ingelse, James Knowles and Brett Williams.

Receiving honors from Belgium are Kayla Solonika and Kaydin Vanderbeek.

Tyler Wilson of Grafton earned highest honors.

Anniversary Don and Jean Grisolono

Don and Jean Grisolono celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, July 30.

The couple, who live in Belgium, celebrated with a special meal shared with family and friends.

Don Grisolono and Jean Daliege married on July 30, 1966, at a Catholic church in Milwaukee.

Mr. Grisolono worked in security and his wife was a nurse. The couple are retired.

They have four sons, Jim, Scott, Glenn and Michael, and four grandchildren.
