YOUR PIX: Beautiful bird, beautiful photograph

The beautiful bird is a blue-winged warbler. The beautiful photograph was made by Cindy Harmeyer of Saukville, who sent it to the Press with a note saying, “It’s warbler season! I was so excited to find this blue-winged warbler at Lion’s Den on May 10.” The Lion’s Den Nature Preserve in the Town of Grafton is a popular stop for migrating songbirds. The bird in Cindy’s remarkable portrait most likely had a very long flight to get there. Blue-winged warblers are known for their nighttime crossings of the Gulf of Mexico on their way to and from Mexico and Central America.
