Winter Fest is Feb. 17, 18 in Cedarburg

Cedarburg will host its annual Winter Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Sunday, Feb. 18

The festival will also include an adults-only ticketed event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.

The festival will follow a 1980s theme and feature favorite traditional activities and some new events promised to be “hella gnarly.”

The annual ice carving contest will be set along Washington Ave., where 300-pound blocks of ice will be transformed into glistening pieces of theme-inspired art.

The Cedarburg Lion’s Ice-Burg Open Golf Tournament — 18 rounds of tennis ball golf in Cedar Creek Park —will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Teams can register at cedarburgfestival.org/winterfest. Registration includes a commemorative pair of Ice-Burg Open gloves, a tennis ball, a spaghetti lunch and free beer at the American Legion and Rebellion Brewing while supplies last. 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Cedarburg Cultural Center.

There will be costumed bed races on Cedar Creek just north of Washington Avenue and Bridge Road at 1:30 p.m. followed by barrel races on Cedar Creek at 2 p.m.

Following the barrel races, there will be open family skating on the Mill Pond. The ice rink located in Cedar Creek Park will also be open if weather permits.

Other festivities, including a 1980s DJ and dog pulls, will be held in downtown Cedarburg.
