Winners of juried exhibit announced

The winners of the Cedarburg Artists Guild’s annual juried exhibit have been announced.

This year’s “Best of Show” was presented to Richard Wandell for his acrylic painting, “The Whole World is Watching.”

Blue ribbons in the two-dimensional category were awarded to Chris Behrs for his pastel “Shimmering Perspective,” Kathleen Sweeney for her fiber art piece “Dawn,” and Jerry Steingraber for his oil painting “Beach Time.”

A blue ribbon in the three-dimensional category was awarded to Dan Grunst for his wood carving and found object sculpture “Day of the Dead.“

Red ribbons in the two-dimensional category went to Jewel Riano-Bradley for her Collagraph/Mixed Media print “Dragon,” Jon McHugh for his acrylic painting “Early Morning on Clear Lake“ and Emily Barelmann for her watercolor painting “Above the Weather.“

  A red ribbon was awarded in the 3-Dimensional category to Mark Hargarten for his resin, wood and steel sculpture “Azure Jay.“

  Two honorable mentions were awarded, one in each of the two categories, to Teri Sparacino for her watercolor painting “Game Day” and Deb Klinkert for her ceramic vessel “Tybee Beach.“

  The exhibit was juried by Debra Brehmer and Richard Hartman, who selected works of art to be included in the exhibit as well as the ribbon winners.

The exhibit and sale continues through Sunday, Oct. 9, at the center, W62 N546 Washington Ave.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
