PAID OBITUARY

William Charles Mitchell Sr. of Random Lake passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 21, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was 72 years old.

Bill was born Jan. 8, 1946, in Milwaukee, to the late Donald and Mildred (Wilke) Mitchell.

He attended Milwaukee area schools, received his GED in 1976 and an associate degree in electronics in 1983 from Lakeshore Technical College. He also obtained numerous EMT and firefighting certifications.

Bill was united in marriage with Carol Sorgent on Jan. 18, 1966, in Iron Mountain, Mich.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and worked as a jet engine mechanic. His duties took him and his family all over the world, including Montana; California; Michigan; Illinois; Okinawa, Japan; and England.

Bill worked at HGI in Belgium, WI, owned and operated the famous Video-City in Random Lake and worked at Home Depot in Grafton.

He volunteered for the Random Lake Fire Department as a lieutenant and EMT intermediate level, along with various other duties for 28 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0145 in Random Lake.

After retirement, he enjoyed studying hypnosis. He was a certified hypnotherapist and owned and operated Guided Imagery in Random Lake. He was also an ordained minister.

Bill liked camping with family, working around the house and reading. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Bill and Carol rode their Harley throughout much of Wisconsin, and on Sundays, you would usually find them out on the bike.  They attended many rallies, Sturgis, and traveled around South Dakota.

Bill is survived by his children Bill (Kim) Mitchell of Manitowoc, Vicky (Chad) Mayer of Adell and Charlie Mitchell of Fredonia; and grandchildren Jacob, McKenzie and Jack Mitchell, Logan and Mason Jonas, Kaila and Jamie Bloemers and Nathan, Abby and Josie Mitchell.

He is also survived by his sister Shirley (Doyle) Nelson of Las Vegas and their children Wendy, Ashley and Sean and his special K9 friends Bear and Angel. 

Bill was proceeded in death by his wife and grandson Tyler.

A joint celebration of life for Bill and Carol will be on May 5, 2018, at the Random Lake Firehouse. Visitation will be from  1 p.m. until the service at 3 p.m.A light lunch will follow.
