Village to begin hydrant flushing Monday, Oct. 24
The Village of Saukville Water Department will flush fire hydrants throughout the village between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, through Thursday, Oct. 28.
If necessary, flushing will continue the week of Oct. 31.
Residents may notice some discoloration in their water during this process, which is caused by iron and is not harmful, according to officials.
Letting faucets run for a short time after the flushing clears the pipes.
Officials recommend residents do not wash clothing if their water is discolored and advise that homeowners may want to bottle water for drinking and cooking prior to flushing.
