Third annual rodeo was a charm for Buechler Farms

With some adjustments due to Covid-19, the Kick Up The Dust Rodeo on Saturday at Buechler Farms was a success, co-owner Irene Buechler said. Extra bleachers were brought in to allow for spacing. “When I looked in the crowd when the rodeo started, there was plenty of room to space out, which is what we wanted,” Buechler said. The event included barrel racing (top photo) and drew Christine LaBarbera and her granddaughter, Gianna Buth, 2 (middle photo). At the beginning of the show, the announcer held a touching prayer (bottom photo) and played the national anthem, after which Buechler said she didn’t see a dry eye in the place. The rodeo sold all of its 1,680 tickets for the event the first two years and 1,200 tickets this year. For the Saturday night concert, an extra bar was added just outside the barn entrance so people could maintain social distance. A new Friday night concert drew 150 people. Photos by Sam Arendt
